From bedroom start-up to industry stardom, Matt's entrepreneurial journey began at 18 when Clownfish Events was born. In those early 2009 days, DJ equipment lived in a B&Q shed, was carted around in Dad's Toyota Previa and 'working from home' wasn't just an option - it was the only option.

All these years later, Clownfish has disrupted the corporate events space and is known for outstanding service, refreshingly epic creativity and - most importantly - unrivalled workplace culture. Like the name suggests, there's nothing bland about this place.

Clownfish won #1 Sunday Times Best Place to Work and the team just celebrated on holiday in Norway, having smashed 2025 targets (it's worth YouTubing that video).

After 16.5 years at the helm, Matt stepped down as MD in August 2025 and left the company he created. It was time for a new challenge!

He spends his time helping both companies and employees find joy, growth and meaning in their workplaces. Matt proudly calls himself the 'Head of Flourishment' wherever he works (yes, it's a made-up word, but a very real concept).

Matt just moved to Cobham with his partner Jonny and their dog Otto. He aspires to live by his old professional tagline: We Bring The Happy.
