With more than 25 years’ experience in the exhibitions industry, James has led multiple business divisions across a broad range of sectors. He began his career in 2001 at Reed Exhibitions, before going on to hold senior leadership roles at UBM, Tarsus Group and GovNet.
James is currently a Director and member of the senior management board at Clarion Events within its Defence and Security division. He leads the DSEI Japan portfolio, having established Clarion Events Japan KK in 2025 to support the launch and growth of the business in the region. In addition, he is working closely with the Australian Department of Defence to deliver a new series of underwater defence events over the next three years, expanding Clarion’s footprint within the sector.
Prior to this, James led the Revo business, overseeing a portfolio of media assets serving the global lighting industry. With extensive experience spanning domestic and international events, digital launches and omni-channel portfolio growth, James brings deep industry expertise and a strong track record of delivering meaningful impact for the sectors his events support.

Outside Work James loves playing sport, especially Rugby, Cricket and Darts. He is also an avid runner. When not taxing his children around he can also be found in his allotment trying to grow vegetables….
