Harvey Goldsmith CBE is a renowned British impresario, concert promoter, and music industry executive known for his significant contributions to the live entertainment and music industry. Born on May 4, 1946, in Edgware, London, Goldsmith has been a pivotal figure in organizing some of the most iconic concerts and events in music history.
Early Career
Harvey Goldsmith's career began in the late 1960s when he promoted concerts at university campuses and small venues. Over time, his keen understanding of the entertainment industry helped him rise to prominence. By the 1970s, Goldsmith was promoting high-profile acts such as The Who, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin.
Landmark Events
Goldsmith is best known for his role in organizing large-scale, impactful events, including:

Live Aid (1985): Goldsmith co-organized this global benefit concert with Bob Geldof, raising millions for famine relief in Ethiopia. The event took place simultaneously in London and Philadelphia and featured performances from major artists like Queen, U2, and David Bowie.

The Prince's Trust Rock Galas: Working closely with the Prince's Trust charity, Goldsmith produced a series of annual concerts featuring legendary performers.

Live 8 (2005): Goldsmith played a crucial role in organizing this global event, raising awareness about poverty in Africa and the G8 summit.
