Amanda assumed the role of Chief Executive on 1 August 2025, bringing more than 30 years’ senior leadership experience across hospitality, tourism and the global business events sector.

During her previous decade as Director of Sales & Marketing, Amanda played a pivotal role in repositioning the EICC as a world-class conference venue, securing major international congresses, strengthening commercial performance, and embedding innovation, sustainability and brand excellence at the heart of the organisation.

As CEO, Amanda is leading the organisation’s next phase of evolution, guided by the EICC’s vision to create an environment which inspires ideas that change the world. Her focus is on performance with purpose - balancing commercial success with long-term value for the city and nation. This includes advancing the EICC’s Step Change sustainability programme, championing inclusive and accessible event design, and positioning the venue as a platform for ideas that deliver lasting economic, social and environmental impact.

A passionate advocate for the power of business events, Amanda believes conferences and trade shows are engines of economic growth, attracting international investment, stimulating city-wide supply chains, accelerating knowledge exchange and strengthening Scotland’s global competitiveness.

Beyond the EICC, Amanda contributes at both national and UK level as a member of the Scottish Government Tourism & Hospitality Industry Leadership Group and as an Advisory Board Member of The Power of Events, supporting the long-term resilience and strategic impact of the sector. Her previous leadership roles include leading Convention Edinburgh during a guardianship period.

Her contribution to tourism and events has been widely recognised, including being named among Scotland’s Top 100 Women in Tourism (2022, 2024) and Tourism Individual of the Year for Central & East Scotland at the Scottish Thistle Awards (2024).
