National Running Show announces new July date following government roadmap

Raccoon events, organisers of the annual National Running Show, has announced a new date for 2021 following the prime minister’s roadmap unveiling.

The Inaugural Running Show South event, held at Farnborough International, will now take place from 17-18 July, having originally been scheduled for six weeks before.

The event is targeted at runners of all abilities and will feature well-known speakers from the running community, including Dame Kelly Holmes, Roger Black and Nell McAndrew.

Raccoon Events, which last year announced a US expansion, will also host its rescheduled Birmingham event at the NEC in January 2022.

Mike Seaman, CEO at Raccoon Events, said the new dates for the South show allows for a four week “cushion”.

He added: “We have continuously said that we will only run shows when it is safe to do so and with hugs and high 5s all round! That still holds true.

“I believe that face-to-face human contact is crucial for us all and I believe that the National Running Show is an important event for the running community that we the organisers have a duty to deliver.

“I am delighted that the government have recognised the importance of events and have delivered a clear plan for large scale events to resume safely in the summer.”

Tickets to the show are available for £10 and can be purchased here.
