Conference-Quality Recording in a Flight Case: SlidesLive Brings Smarter, Portable Event Capture to International Confex

SlidesLive will showcase its portable RoboCam recording workflow at International Confex 2026, introducing event organizers to a more reliable and scalable way to capture conferences, seminars, and multi-room programs without large production crews or complex setups.

Robotic PTZ cameras have become a familiar part of modern event production, appearing in conference halls, universities, and corporate venues worldwide. While these systems promise efficiency, many still depend on operators manually controlling cameras or correcting framing throughout the day. In practice, this often means higher staffing needs, inconsistent results, and added pressure during live sessions.

SlidesLive approaches the challenge differently. Rather than focusing on automating individual cameras, the company has developed a software-driven workflow that manages the entire recording process — from speaker tracking to live switching and monitoring.

Its RoboCam system is powered by proprietary NATE software, built from the company’s experience recording more than 100,000 talks globally. By combining video feeds with audio signals directly from the sound desk, the system identifies who is actively speaking and adjusts framing automatically. This allows reliable tracking even when presenters move behind podiums, turn toward screens, or participate in panel discussions.

The system also prepares clean, pre-cut recordings during the event itself, helping reduce post-production time and enabling faster publishing.

Designed with logistics in mind, the full workflow runs on NATEBox, a custom-built unit that fits into a single 23 kg flight case and travels as standard airline luggage. The compact setup allows small crews to deploy quickly and oversee multiple rooms simultaneously, making it well suited for large conferences with parallel sessions.

“Our goal is to make professional event recording as common and accessible as taking notes,” said Vojta Ciml, CEO of SlidesLive. “By replacing complex logistics with autonomous technology, we enable organizers to capture 100% of their content, ensuring that no valuable idea is lost simply because it wasn’t 'lucky' enough to be recorded. ”

Beyond capture, SlidesLive provides an integrated content ecosystem, including synchronized video-and-slide playback and secure hosting, helping organizers publish and share sessions long after the event concludes.

At International Confex, attendees will be able to see the RoboCam system and portable workflow in action, meet the team, and discuss how a software-led approach can simplify production across single-room events and large-scale, multi-day conferences alike.
