Darren Styles OBE, publisher and owner of Attitude Magazine, will be presenting a keynote session at International Confex on February 26th with Stephen Morton Prior of Clearwater Events (one of the UK’s few LGBTQ+ event agencies) on the topic of diversity and inclusion entitled “The sustainable moral compass”. Styles was awarded an OBE in 2018 for services to the economy, diversity and charity and is an ambassador for Downing Street’s GREAT campaign, promoting the UK as a place to visit, invest or seek an education. Through this, he has been responsible for developing the “Love is GREAT” strand that promotes the UK as a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals.
Currently number 64 on the FT’s OUTstanding list of top LGBT executives, Styles together with Morton Prior will be discussing the issue of: from the suppliers you deploy, to the destinations you work with, to the very language you use, how are you respecting your LGBTQ+ delegates’ safety and inclusion?
A must attend for event planners of all denominations to understand why consideration for LGBTQ+ delegate needs is not only a moral mandate but sound commercial strategy.
