The Academy

Shinesmith and Women in Exhibitions Network partnered  to integrate a number of programmes both online and in our live events and make tailor - made training and education accessible to professionals in our industry. Especially for the members, Shinesmith’s Academy Directors, George Stylianou and Ian Washington-Smith have developed a number of programmes that will be of benefit to the members of the community of women in exhibitions network. The methods focus on the use of techniques which enable professionals to maximise the benefits of rational thinking and can be easily learned and applied in a short space of time. “Our overall objective is to empower every individual to realise the value they bring to their current and any future role. We brought this together under Our Academy.”

The first online session is due on June 19th 2020 and is the first episode of a series of 5 episodes of the Thinkshop Series Programme training the participants to develop in the following areas; influencing and negotiating, self-branding, managing conflict, managing change and managing stress.

COMING SOON: Middle East Chapter

Through the Women in Exhibitions Chapters all over the World, the network aims to become accessible to a network of women and create also a regional setting that contributes to strengthening the international community. After chapters in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, UK now we want to encourage women to participate and get involved but most importantly benefit from the value this community creates together.

The two founding partners of the Middle East Chapter are Victoria James (Event Director at Bett Mea, Hyve Group) and Samantha Kane-Macdonald (Freelance Event and Exhibition Director) both located in Dubai, with many years of experience in our industry.

 NEW WEBSITE

Last couple of weeks we joined forces together with EMOTIONstudios and designed the new website and branding for our community of women in exhibitions. In these digital days, they manage to visualise the work that was happening backstage and show it to the world.
