Augmented reality (AR) has been one of the hottest technologies the past years. Gartner saw this early and predicted market maturity during 2020. Apps like Snapchat, Facebook and Pokemon go have introduced AR in a simple way to the worlds smartphone users. And now we are here in 2020 experiencing AR when we shop, play games, work and visit museums, pretty much everywhere. At handla.io we saw this market momentum coming at us in a high pace. So we started experimenting with AR-technology with an objective to try driving behavior by gamification that we also could measure. At first we developed an treasure hunt with easter theme for a mall in Sweden. The results were great from both end users and our customer. Since then we have been developing more themes and tuned our gamification function. The result is better than we ever expected. Our Treasure hunts are driving conversion rates between an average of 5-35% and the engagement we get from participants is even higher.

Now malls, exhibitors and events all over Sweden is using our app Treasure to increase engagement, conversion, evaluations and lead generation while also providing fun challenges in AR. Which also make them feel future proofed towards their customers.
