Oxford University and college venues look forward to welcoming guests back through our doors again. We are busy working to ensure that the correct measures and processes are in place to allow for the safe return of our students, staff and of course, our valued customers.
The city’s venues offer a broad array of facilities, including modern purpose-built lecture theatres, historic college dining halls, glorious garden quads, libraries and museums. These spaces can be used to host a successful event that will create a memorable lasting impression. This article serves to highlight some of those venues, and will introduce Conference Oxford, the University’s and Colleges’ excellent venue-finding service.
The Bodleian Library
One of the most iconic dining venues in the city is the Divinity School which is situated at the heart of the Bodleian Library. The Library itself is very much at the centre of University life. The Divinity School will open its doors again from the 1st of October (subject to UK Government guidelines) for dining experiences for up to 30 guests. This late-gothic room impresses most with its magnificent features: the stone carved ceiling, large arched windows and raised wooden platforms. Smaller and refined events will certainly absorb the unique and magical atmosphere of the Bodleian. Private tours can be arranged for small groups of guests who have a desire to learn more about the Duke Humfrey’s Library, while the Bodleian’s preferred caterers will work closely with event organisers to deliver a safe and seamless dining experience for all guests to enjoy.
The Bodleian’s main priority is to treat the safety and well-being of its guests, suppliers and staff members with the utmost care and consideration. To ensure this happens, the Bodleian’s dedicated Events team will be on hand at every point to work with organisers and suppliers to ensure that they are on-board with University and Government guidance. The Bodleian is part of the Meetings & Industry Association and has recently gained COVID secure accreditation.
