The Blue hat team are always great fun to be around, but now that we can’t be around each other, what genius have they concocted in their country warehouse of fun! We caught up with the team that gamified our Speed Networking at Confex to find out.
Never has it been more vital to keep teams and colleagues connected from all areas and across all levels of a business, than it is right now. The COVID-19 crisis has impacted the lives of us all in many different ways and no doubt, will have its lasting effect on our future. With hundreds of millions of us now working from home, 6 weeks in, many people now face new challenges such as feelings of isolation and plummeting morale. Where the team away days, social gatherings, energisers and conference team building activities were once the favourited solutions for boosting morale and motivation; the enforced overnight changes highlighted that these were of course now redundant, leaving remote workers alone and disconnected.
One company that were lightning fast to evolve and have been leading the way in order to support their client’s issues, despite dealing with their own, were Blue Hat Teambuilding. Their former business model primarily succeeded on successfully bonding teams with face to face interactive events. This business model was rapidly addressed and redesigned to be virtually inclusive and digitally accessible, but with a personalised human touch. Blue hat devised a clever cocktail like no other teambuilding company yet and has already run multiple successful events for their clients.
Not only does their suite of new virtual teambuilding activities succeed in keeping colleagues connected, focused and feeling positive during this challenging time, these activities are still designed to provide business solutions in the same way traditional teambuilding does. Leadership, communication, problem solving and many more team skills are tested and improved within these activities, just from the safety of their own homes.
Most inspiring - is their Great British style Virtual Pub Quiz, that combines the virtual with reality. The quiz is virtually hosted by entertaining event presenters, but each participant receives a specially delivered parcel for the event, containing pub favourites like craft beers and bar snacks along with physical clues to aid the quiz. Parcels can even be personalised with extra treats and branded to enable businesses to show their dedication and appreciation to their employees.
Best for problem solving – is their Virtual Escape Room. An exciting activity that can be run as a hosted or self-run event. Teams must solve a range of tasks, puzzles and challenges delivered via an app, to escape the room in the quickest time possible.
Best for Networking – is ‘Virtual Who’s Who?’. A game that encourages the use of the companies remote working software whilst encouraging colleagues to build stronger and more meaningful relationships.
Most Memorable – is ‘The Corona Canvas’ which is an activity that can be undertaken by corporates, communities and families alike. It is an inspirational attempt to create the largest piece of artwork ever created, spanning across generations, abilities, countries and where communication and collaboration across the globe is key to its formation.
