SensoryCalm™ Quiet Room
SensoryCalm™ is EventWell’s professionally delivered quiet space solution for conferences, exhibitions and festivals. Designed specifically for high-stimulus event environments, it provides a calm, supervised space where attendees, exhibitors and staff can take a break from sensory load and regulate when experiencing overwhelm.
Research shows that the three main overwhelm triggers for neurodivergent attendees at events are noise, crowds and navigation. SensoryCalm™ is created to directly reduce the impact of these stressors by offering a structured, low-stimulus environment away from the main event floor.
Each space is purpose-built using calming design principles and is staffed throughout opening hours by trained EventWell® Hosts. Hosts are trained in neurodiversity awareness, safeguarding and mental health first aid for event environments, ensuring attendees feel safe and supported if they need assistance.
SensoryCalm™ spaces typically include:
-
Low-stimulus seating and soft furnishings
-
Regulating tools such as fidget items and weighted supports
-
Clear signage and orientation support
-
Access to guided Calm Skills techniques (such as breathing or grounding exercises)
-
On-hand support from trained Hosts when required
The space is open to all attendees who may benefit from a quiet moment - including neurodivergent individuals, those experiencing anxiety, fatigue, migraines, chronic pain, menopause symptoms, or anyone who simply needs to step away from the demands of a busy event.
SensoryCalm™ is not a relaxation lounge or a DIY quiet corner. It is a professionally supervised wellbeing space designed to help people pause, regulate and return to the event safely.
