Charities Embrace Bidding for Prizes by Text
Texts are turning into gold for charities, thanks to a leading audio visual production company. AV Unit has developed a unique fully-automated interactive silent auction system, Bid Again Now. Delivered by mobile phone text messages, Bid Again Now maximises the time available for bidding and has proved effective at increasing the amount of money raised.
Guests at the 10 Years of Smiles Ball held at the Hurlingham Club in London used Bid Again Now to help raise an overall total of £220,000.
Kate McKeand, event organiser for Operation Smile, said: "With Bid Again Now we were able to increase the donations made in our silent auction by 30% on the previous year. Everyone had fun and we were delighted to work with AV Unit to stage this special event in our calendar".
