Event organisers are being encouraged to look outside the capital as pressure on London’s event and conference venues grows ahead of the Olympic Games.
The Olympic Games are expected to bring increased business to the UK, with opportunities for high-profile meetings, launches, events and press conferences.
Now venues within easy reach of the capital are hoping to benefit from increased business by offering first class facilities without the accommodation and transport limitations expected in London this summer.
Two of Suffolk’s most popular event and conference venues – Trinity Park in Ipswich and The Apex in Bury St Edmunds – have joined forces to exhibit as Venue Suffolk at International Confex 2012 at ExCel in March.
Julie Warren, Development Manager at The Apex, said: ‘The growth in business associated with the Olympic Games will be huge and we believe there are many opportunities for venues which are within easy reach of London to benefit too.
‘The Apex and Trinity Park both offer first class facilities and with excellent train links to central London and ample parking, they’re easy for delegates to access.
Christine Bond, Commercial Manager at Trinity Park, said: ‘Olympic sporting events are taking place all over the country, not just in London, so we’re keen for Suffolk’s economy to benefit as much as possible from this once-in-a-lifetime event.
‘Encouraging event organisers to look further afield and make the most of first-class, flexible and cost-effective venues which are on London’s doorstep allows us to play our part in the Olympic Legacy.’
The two very distinct venues will be exhibiting on stand 251 at International Confex at ExCel from March 6th to 8th.
Both venues offer first class conferencing and business facilities. The Apex, which is in the heart of the market town of Bury St Edmunds, is a state-of-the-art building boasting a main auditorium seating up to 600 and a unique flexible floor and seating system.
Set in 300 acres on the edge of Ipswich, Trinity Park is home to an award-winning conference and events centre with flexible layouts, meeting rooms and park land.
Both venues are easily accessible from London.
Trinity Park is a stone’s throw from the A12/A14, with parking for several thousand vehicles, and The Apex is just minutes from the A14 with ample parking and only 10 minutes from Bury St Edmunds railway station.
