York Conferences hosts African Nation for Olympics
York Conferences at the University of York hosts African nations pre-games training camps in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games starting July 27.
Discussions took place early this year with key officials from the Gambian National Olympics Committee (GNOC) and ZANOCA (Zonal Association of National Olympic Committee of Africa) Zone II teams. As a result, the University of York’s brand new sports village and some accommodation will be used to host the Guatemalan team. Other African nations are being hosted across the City.
Sian Fraser, Marketing and Sales Manager at York Conferences said, ‘Our new sports village opens this year just in time for the training camp, and we are delighted that the Guatemalan team is going to be one of the first users of the facility. We hope that this will help build international sporting links for the City going forward.’
If you would like to book any of the University of York’s new sports facilities, you can make an appointment to visit York Conferences at Confex in Excel, London, 6-8th March 2012. E-mail sian.fraser@york.ac.uk to make an appointment now.
